Online and room based counselling and psychotherapy.

Life can be relentless and we can feel heartbroken, overwhelmed, powerless, loved, grateful, angry, and lost all at the same time. We try to cope by somehow slogging on, staying busy, using substances, shopping, eating, whatever... we isolate, shut down, cry... we know we're not thriving, we're -just about- surviving.

Having somewhere and someone outside your family or friendship group where you can let down your guard, talk about the things that matter to you and find a way through can make a big difference. You are worth it.

I'm a skilled and supportive listener.

I offer individual, couples and relationship counselling depending on what you need. A space where you can explore what's important to you, in your own time and at your pace.

Nature Based Therapy

Sessions take place in the field or on the path, walking or sitting. Body based awareness exercises are offered to ground us into the moment. For individuals and couples.

Nature and the 'other than human' provides a valuable perspective on our human condition and conditioning.

There is a sheltered space for occasions when the weather is inclement.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy
In EFP, we encounter the horses and the herd environment and explore our experience of it. Horses offer us their authenticity. As social beings, the way they respond to us and their environment can be a teaching in itself, they can help us to trust. They 'hum' and their vibration can affect us at a deep level. We can gain insights and connections to our own life, our needs, our behaviour while we are with them and when we are not.
We can learn about our own inner herd - all the parts of us through which we relate to life, we can discover so much about ourselves from witnessing their goodness and trust.
Horse riding is not involved in EFP work.

A bit about my work

I have over 20 years working professionally as a humanistic, integrative therapist. My life, training, experience and ongoing learning equip me with the skills and understanding I need to work as a therapist.

Many of my clients find themselves struggling with aspects of life that keep them from feeling fulfilled or cause them to falter under the weight of overwhelming circumstances. Being in the thick of a difficult relationship, coming to terms with the loss of a loved one or dealing with your own health problems, having issues at work or college or living with the legacy of a troubled upbringing all take their toll on us. I can help you through this, remind you that you are worth the care and compassion that may feel absent or difficult to sustain.

It can feel daunting and at times scary to focus on ourselves and our own need. Having a therapeutic space is often the best place to do this safely. I offer a space where you can receive support and understanding. Where you can develop your own perspective without the need to reciprocate.

Many of my clients, past and present, courageously choose to let me into their personal world so that we can walk together and address the obstacles and issues that are causing suffering to themselves and others. My approach focuses on what is 'right' with us rather than what is 'wrong,' so we can build on our foundation of worth and care from the inside out.
